SAVING LIFE AND PROPERTY ONE INSPECTION AT A TIME!
INSPECTION PROGRAM
Antonia Fire Protection District Ordinance 41 authorizes and requires the Fire Prevention Bureau to inspect all residential
and commercial properties subject to fire regulations.
A major responsibility of the Bureau of Fire's operations is fire prevention. One method employed to reduce the number
of fires is to enforce the fire code regulations. This can best be achieved through a fire and life safety inspection program.
Therefore, a fire prevention inspection has been established for all properties subject to fire regulations. The goal of
the program is to reduce the number of deaths, injuries and property loss from fire, and hence, to enhance the public health,
safety and welfare.
All new construction and existing change of occupancy inspections are handled by the Fire Prevention Bureau. Personnel
from the local firehouse inspect smaller properties, these are referred to as Incompany Fire Inspections. Larger and more
complex occupancies, such as factories, hospitals, schools, churches, and so forth require inspections by personnel from the
Fire Marshal's office as these require specialized training for the fire and smoke detection system, alarms and much more.
